Elegant Farmer 2 traditional apple pies
Baked in a paper bag, Elegant Farmer apple pies are truly the best in the country. Crunchy crust filled to bursting with the freshest apples, just sweet enough to be the perfect foil for a scoop of ice cream, or maybe a slice of sharp Wisconsin cheddar. For special occasions, and a truly decadent experience, the same pie is doused in buttery caramel. Just so that you have enough to share, we ship them two at a time. You can get two of the Original Apple, or two of the Caramel Apple, or one of each if you can’t decide. They last up to 90 days when frozen, so don’t feel guilty about stocking up!

Serving Suggestions
These pies are amazing, and to be honest, you don’t want to do too much to them beyond getting them on your plate! We like the traditional serving ideas, a scoop of rich vanilla or butter pecan ice cream. A drizzle of caramel sauce. A slice of extra sharp cheddar is amazing on the original pie, and cinnamon scented whipped cream goes well with the caramel apple version. One of our colleagues swears by melted premium vanilla ice cream as a quick crème anglaise, and another says that she likes hers with a topping of sour cream sweetened with brown sugar.
Prep Instructions
PIES MUST BE FROZEN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE UPON ARRIVAL TO MAINTAIN QUALITY AND THE CRUNCHY TOP CRUST. Note: even though pies may not feel frozen solid when you open the shipper, it’s perfectly safe to freeze them. Your only choices are to re-freeze immediately or to pop them in the oven.

Preparation Instructions:
Frozen:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place frozen pie still in original paper bag on baking sheet in oven for 50-60 minutes. DO NOT let bag touch side of oven or heating elements!
Thawed:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place thawed pie still in original paper bag on baking sheet in oven for 8-10 minutes. DO NOT let bag touch side of oven or heating elements.
